Left for Good

Decades of mirrored reflections
My words unworthy
Shattered in a day
A click, a post, a blog
A comment
Twenty-twelve the year
Not good enough
Was left
So I could write

This is offered up for the prompt at Poetry Jam poetryjaam.blogspot.com by Peggy who asks us to write about what was left behind in 2012. This was difficult, almost gave up and then when walking the dogs, realized 2012 was the year I started my blog, started visiting poetry jam, poets united, and dverse poets. Starting a blog was a real leap of faith for me—thank you for helping me to leave “Not Good Enough” behind. Also, tied in a little reflection for the prompt at Wonder Wednesday where Kim asked us to write about reflections. Sometimes the mirror tells lies....

  1. So glad you left "not good enough" behind. Starting a blog and posting on some sites are a great leap which was hard for me at first as well. Now I am glad I did and love that people all around the globe have looked at my blog. Quite amazing really.

  2. I think many of us have had self doubts. I am glad you left yours behind. The blogosphere is really a pretty supportive place, for the most part. I always enjoy your poetry, as it is so grounded. I appreciate that quality. Write on.

  7. Sara, I'm so glad you not only didn't give up, you took the time to realize how far you had come in the year past. We all have regrets, sad memories/experiences, and insecurity. Those three are the Trifecta for writers, which is why we must do it, and go on doing it.

You are wonderful. Keep on jammin'! Love, Amy

  9. I'm with you - it was the blogosphere who encouraged me to begin writing again, when it had slowed to a trickle from lack of encouragement. 2013 will be a big year for poetry, kiddo! Looking forward to enjoying your work all year.
