Enjoy the Glow

I'm having a sit in
Truth-
fully
A sit out-
side
Watch-
ing
Moon
Ride its orbital string
Above me
And enjoy the mystery
To see if clouds
Spin gossamer glow
Just so
Or if it will be
Just me
The moon and inky
Sky
A cricket or two
Sawing serrated wings
To woo
Just like me
And you
Let's be round
Glide slow
And enjoy the glow

This is offered for Alan's lovely prompt at poetryjaam.blogspot. com to write about the moon and for Susan at Poets United poetryblogroll.blogspot.com who asked for a public protest. I stretched that a bit, but I do protest the speed of life. Need to take time and enjoy the glow :-)

  1. Sara, I will join you in participating in this sit-in. Sitting outside just to watch the moon sounds like a delightful thing to do on a warm June night!

  3. Sit-in, applied this way does work to slow time as if you were tying an anchor to the moon. Thank you!

  4. I like your idea of a sit-in, Sara, just slowing down the pace of life. I am certain you will not alone enjoying the quietness of the moon.

  5. Gosh, you know you are lucky that you can just sit and stare. I am far too restless and can't remember the last time I sat, juts sitting, outside nor in. Sunbathing, or even Moonbathing is totally outside my scope. Pity, I might learn something. Liked this interlude, or even 'interlune' :-)

  13. This is a delightful bit of whimsy and levity, Sara - with some elegant wordsmithing, to boot. As I have gotten older, I find that I, too, have taken to protesting the speed of life. Smiles.

  17. ah the moon so beautiful in her silent reverie. I think silence and beauty is something we can very well protest for

  18. The moon has been so lucky for millenia with all her admirers. With all of life's pressures it is great to time out and commune with the moon as you have done.

  21. Sara, so glad to see you comment at my blog. I appreciate everyone's patience in my coming over!

Your poem was strung down the page like a string of luscious pearls. You are right about the taking time to love life. Also, your choice of hyphens made this perfectly whimsical. BRILL! Thanks for the smiles. Amy
