Art-ticulate

Nuerons and heartbeat
Compete
For my words
While Cadmium Blue
And Vermillion pump
Through
Me

Eager fingers dip
Splash, slip, smear
While hips
Sway
And I hum in the
Key of joy
Michaelangelo
Leaves me at a loss
For words
But my fingers
Are ready to sing

  1. I love the title "Art-iculate." For me this poem expresses how art so often can really inspire a person, make his/her words 'sing.'

  2. What a vision I am having right now ... you, standing in front of a canvas, music in the background, hair and body moving in sync .. very nice. The art work is spectacular.

  9. Wonderful and this line is great: "And I hum in the
    Key of joy."

  10. Mad just beat me to it... humming in the key of joy! It could also be "humming in the key of Michelangelo." That's ever farther afield, but whatever. Loved this! Peace, Amy
Here's an art poem I wrote about my daughter, Riley, who's at Laguna Beach Institute of Art & Design:
