Lacrimal Desert

Prompt-Write a Fade Away Poem

Lacrimal Desert

Glaciers of Grief
Press against her eyes
But she's blocked them
So long her
Tear ducts are dry
So she sits
And waits
For the ice
To
Melt

Altered Visions

Abuela sits in
The faded easy chair
And stares
At memories
That aren't there

  1. These are just beautiful, Sara. Sorrowful and longing. And just something about the name "Abuela" sets such a strong, sweet tone for the second one. Perfect.
